Sterling Silver Jewelry by Durango Silver Company
Durango Silver Company has been in the business of producing Sterling Silver Jewelry for forty years in 2012. That’s a long time for a family own and run business and have we ever learned a lot in that period of time. Our company has done very well and we have made a lot of high quality Sterling Silver Jewelry that we marketed ourselves in the United States and all over the world.
Sterling Silver Jewelry
Our business started out in 1972 when John and Estell Hartman had learned the Silversmithing and Stonecutting trades. They set out on the road to sell their Silver Jewelry and it was an immediate success story from their. In 1974, John and Estell moved their company to Durango, Colorado and in 1975, John built what became Durango Silver Company. We opened for business in spring of 1976 and have had a brisk business producing, buying and selling Silver Jewelry.
There have been a lot of changes in this industry over the past 39 years, but, none as tremendous as the recent increase in the value of Silver. When we first started in 1972, Silver was about $1.90 per ounce, in the past three years Silver went from $6.00 per ounce to $40.00 per ounce. The market is going to change dramatically now, companies can no longer make junk Silver Jewelry with cheap stones for the costume Jewelry market, it is going to wash a lot of people and manufacturers out of the Sterling Silver Jewelry business immediately!
Individuals must watch out for the haulks in the Jewelry business now because they will start using other metals to fake Silver Jewelry, so it is now a buyer beware situation. Durango Silver Company is a reputable Sterling Silver Jewelry producer from the Southwestern USA. We produce quality authentic Western Sterling Silver Jewelry that you can trust!
